This Tormes from Fundação Eça de Queiroz is a real burst of sunshine from the Douro Valley – you’ll see the colour practically scream “lemon!” (scoring 16 points, naturally). The nose is a joyous celebration of citrus, with a hint of tropical fruit, thanks to the Arinto grapes. On the palate, it’s wonderfully smooth, balanced by a lovely acidity reminiscent of the classic Avesso, and finishes with a vibrant, fruity persistence. Seriously delicious with grilled fish.
