This “Grande Reserva” from Quinta Várzea da Pedra certainly has a grand name – though perhaps a touch dramatic! It’s a powerfully concentrated Touriga Nacional, undeniably shaped by the calciferous soils of Lisbon, lending it a remarkably expressive mineral character. Expect a serious wine, ideally paired with a hearty beef roast or, for something a little simpler, a lovely, slow-cooked paio. A testament to the producer's skill, really.
