Herdade Aldeia de Cima “We study the history of wine and vineyards in the Alentejo territory, a continuous presence through time and space of tradition, geology, textures, and aromas. We preserve authenticity because from the outset we feel we have time. We sought traditional grape varieties. We found them; they were close to us. It is in the simplest processes that we produce transparent wines, and the Reserva Tinto is a wine of place, of emotion, an authentic messenger. We wanted to understand the nature of micro‑terroirs and succeeded.” Vinification and maturation: Lot with 60 % Alicante Bouschet, 25 % Trincadeira, 15 % Aragonês. 30 % of the lot aged 12 months in 500‑litre French oak barrels (second year); 25 % aged 6 months in 1 000‑litre Cocciopesto amphorae; 20 % aged 4 months in 150‑litre terracotta tinajas; 25 % aged 6 months in 2 600‑litre Nico Velo cement tanks.
