This wine, from Herdade de Lisboa Infantes, clearly spent some time resting – nine months in 300L and 500L French oak barrels – and it’s emerged with a distinct sense of grace. The extended pre-fermentation maceration at 16°C, with a thermal shock, speaks to a producer who truly appreciates the nuance of Trincadeira and Touriga Nacional. While Alicante Bouschet and Aragonez contribute welcome body and structure, the overall harmony is carefully overseen by the winemaker. It’s a blend that’s destined to pair wonderfully with grilled beef or a hearty sausage stew.
