This Pombal is a bold statement from the Alentejo, brimming with ripe red fruit and raisin aromas. The meticulous hand-harvesting, facilitated by those hefty 20kg crates, suggests the producer isn't leaving a single detail behind. The inclusion of 40% new French oak adds a welcome layer of sophistication – a detail recognised by the Grandes Escolhas as giving it a refined and lingering finish. Definitely a wine for a perfectly grilled steak or perhaps a rabbit roasted with herbs.
