This H.O. Moscatel Galego Branco certainly arrives with a rather ambitious streak – aiming to be “exceptional” and contribute to a sustainable future for the Douro, according to Horta Osório. The grapes, sourced from carefully selected parcels of Moscatel Galego, are then subjected to a cool, pneumatic pressing at 5-6°C, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperatures between 14-16°C, all designed to amplify those initial aromas. It sounds like a wine determined to keep you on your toes – particularly lovely with grilled fish or seafood dishes, to really bring out its acidity.
