This Illustrious Alentejo wine is a seriously impressive display of power. The colour is quite intense, hinting at a burst of dark, ripe fruit – reminiscent of dark chocolate, supposedly bringing a bit of luck – alongside a subtle, elegant touch of lavender. On the palate, the Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet deliver with an intensity that’s frankly a bit startling, thankfully balanced by the earthy minerality that, according to the experts, “tames” the vines’ exuberance. Definitely one to pair with roasted lamb – a match made in wine heaven, really.
