This Insula Chão de Lava Rosé is clearly a wine born of a rather intense dedication to the grapes. Hand-harvested in 15kg boxes, it speaks volumes about the care taken, and the direct pressing (50% of the batch) brilliantly unlocks the characteristic Touriga Nacional – a variety that thrives wonderfully here. Gentle maceration, with Syrah and Merlot rounding out the blend, yields a remarkably fresh and vibrant wine, perfect with oysters or grilled fish, I’d say.
