This J H Andresen Century Royal Choice is a real nostalgia trip – the colour is such a delicate chestnut that it feels like a closely guarded secret. On the nose, you get a beautifully balanced sweetness, with hazelnut dancing alongside caramel, and a subtle hint of dried orange peel – a lovely nod to the Touriga Francesa. The palate is wonderfully smooth and almost languid, bursting with ripe fruit and nuts, and with a finish that begs for a pairing with some aged cheeses or Iberian ham. A true classic deserving of careful enjoyment.
