Génese Mountain Terroir Génese symbolizes the roots of Manuel and Luís Cerdeira in Melgaço, their native land. This wine originates from Monção and Melgaço and is 100% Alvarinho, made from carefully selected vineyards on the mountainside slopes. Winemaking combines slow fermentation in stainless steel with partial malolactic fermentation and aging of 20% in Mixtus barrels, crafted from woods of different origins. Region: Monção e Melgaço | Vinho Verde DOC Mountain Terroir: Soil: Granitic, sandy, and low in clay. A poor, highly acidic soil that shapes the wine's profile. Climate: A valley sheltered by mountains, with low maritime influence. Vineyards at altitude, with hot, dry summers and cold winters. During ripening, the diurnal temperature range is wide, with warm days and cool nights, allowing slow maturation that preserves elegance and acidity.
