Very few producers, especially in Madeira wine, have a history marked by a revolution as great as the one that occurred with Barbeito. To be a bulk wine supplier and suddenly become a benchmark in the Madeira wine region is a remarkable feat. Everything began in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family firm and, together with the Japanese Kinoshita partners, turned Barbeito into one of the most important Madeira wine producers.
