This Messias Selection from Bairrada arrives with a colour that certainly delivers – a deep ruby that practically begs you to dive into ripe fruit flavours of plum, cherry and blackcurrant. The aromatics are immediately expressive, with spices igniting a touch of curiosity. On the palate, the structure is firm, showcasing the presence of the Baga and Touriga Nacional tannins. A long, refreshing finish provides the perfect punctuation to this vineyard, which, incidentally, has garnered some accolades in the Guide to Portuguese Wine. Wonderful with grilled beef.
