Mingorra, planted in 1978 at the Mingorra estate, the 25th plot (Talhão 25) is the oldest vineyard in the Beja region. There we find twelve different grape varieties, some of them little‑known, which come together in this unique field blend, hand‑harvested. Produced only in exceptional vintages, Vinhas da Ira brings the full, strong personality of this territory to life. The 2018 vintage began with a dry, cold winter, followed by a wet spring with mild temperatures and a gentle early summer, allowing the vines to develop well. In early August a heat wave combined with wind caused intense scorching in the vineyards – but because plot 25 is an old vine long adapted to such extremes, it was less affected than the other parcels of the estate. Maturation proceeded in balance, with concentration and without losing freshness. Winemaking: light cold‑maceration; traditional “curtimenta” fermentation in lags at a controlled 26 °C; 18 months of aging in French oak. Winemaker: Pedro Hipólito Total acidity: 6.7 g/L pH: 3.28 Alentejo Regional Wine Awards Bronze – International Wine Challenge (2014) 17/20 – Grandes Escolhas (2014) 17.5/20 – Revista de Vinhos (2011) Allergen information Contains sulfites.
