Born under the relentless sun of the Alentejo, this Monte Cascas Grande Reserva is a testament to nature’s boldness. Hand-harvested in September, the grapes – Trincadeira, Aragonez, and the delightfully unexpected Alicante Bouschet – are selected with meticulous care. The fermentation, with a special attention given to the Alicante Bouschet, keeps the fruit remarkably fresh, while 18 months ageing in French oak barrels lend it a subtle grace. Having won a Gold Medal at the Vinhos de Portugal 2023 competition, it pairs beautifully with hearty fare – think a good hunt, strong cheeses, or a substantial Alentejo sausage.
