This Muscat feels like it’s had a rather lengthy chat with history. Born from the clay slopes of Arrábida, this Kingsman Century Edition, aged in a used chestnut barrel at Adega dos Teares Velhos, marks a rather grand celebration of José Maria da Fonseca’s 100 years. The producer’s suggestion of resilience against the 1919 vintage seems apt – this Muscat certainly holds its own. A perfect match for delicate cheeses or a chocolate mousse, to see if time has only intensified its sweetness.
