This Pacheca, steeped in history dating back to 1738, truly embodies the patience and skill expected from the Douro Valley. Now managed by the Serpa Pimentel family, it’s crafted from carefully selected Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes, macerated slowly in granite tanks to unlock maximum colour and aroma. A deliberate nine-day process, featuring gentle foot treading and pumping over, preserves the wine’s inherent complexity. Following a twelve-month maturation in French oak barrels, the result is a refined red with ample body and a lingering finish – ideally paired with a perfectly grilled steak.
