The Tempranillo from old vines remains the star of Palacio Quemado’s Crianza, though this year they once again added a small proportion of Petit Verdot—rather than the previously used Cabernet Sauvignon—to create a fresh, balanced red with an appealing spiced character. It’s an excellent introduction to the wines of the Ribera del Guadiana DO.
