Right then, let’s have a look at this one. This Coudoulet, straight from the Rhône, isn’t messing about. You’ve got Syrah and Grenache having a particularly pleasant waltz, really echoing the soil of the Vale doèi. Expect ripe red fruit and a touch of that classic ‘garrigue’ earthiness. It’s a remarkably robust expression, and quite rightly, it scooped gold at the concours agricole de Beaucaire – proof, if you needed it, of its quality. Absolutely brilliant with some cured meats or a good, grilled steak, wouldn’t you agree?
