Pó De Poeira Tinto

Description

Wine produced from the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Sousão grape varieties, together with a portion of old vines. After 12 months of ageing in French oak barrels, it presents intense aromas of wild blackberries, dark chocolate and warm spices. On the palate it is quite solid, with persistent yet round tannins, and it finishes long and enveloping. After making seven harvests as winemaker at Real Companhia Velha, Jorge Moreira felt the need to launch an individual project where he could apply his own ideas and control the entire production process. At its heart, this is a wine that would reflect his interpretation of the Douro. Inspired by this aspiration, in 2001 he acquired 9 hectares of vineyards and began his personal project at Quinta do Poeiras, in Provesende, along a hillside in the Pinhão valley, on the right bank of the river of the same name.
