The Alandroal Wine Company was founded in 2000 by Paolo Fiuza Nigra, Luís Bulhão Martins and Carlos Portas. The initials of each of them gave the project its name, PLC. In the rolling plains of Alentejo, between Alandroal and Portalegre, the team manages 100 hectares of vineyards planted on loamy soils, where indigenous and other native grape varieties contribute to the production of high‑quality wines. PLC bottled its first wine in 2001, marking its entry into the national market under the brand Pontual. (image purely illustrative)
