This Pica Pica from Quinta de Lemos is a wine that demands a certain reverence – and, let’s be honest, a little patience. The Touriga Nacional lends its generous structure, beautifully interwoven with Tinta Roriz, while the addition of Jaen promises a compelling layer of complexity. Crafted at an altitude between 350 and 400 metres, with careful hand-harvesting, this wine allows the distinct terroir of the Dão region to truly shine. It’s a fantastic accompaniment to a hearty grilled steak, perhaps balanced with a perfectly grilled trout to tame the intensity of the grapes.
