This wine from Quinta de Pancas certainly needed a little encouragement before revealing its full potential. A vibrant colour is driven by Alicante Bouschet, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, boasting dark, cooked fruit aromas alongside spice notes and a hint of tobacco – a surprisingly sophisticated combination, almost as if a talented chef crafted it. The palate is remarkably balanced, with a refreshing acidity and tannins that earned it a respectable 86 points in Revista de Vinhos, suggesting a future worth watching. It would pair beautifully with a hearty beef roast, I’d wager.
