This wine, from Quinta do Infantado, clearly enjoyed a rather spirited journey. The 20kg grape boxes suggest a passionate harvest, and the mechanical treading at the *lagar* with indigenous yeasts hints at a return to tradition without sacrificing efficiency. The used French oak barrels used for aging will undoubtedly mellow the wine, but the fact that it was bottled directly on the estate – unfiltered, what a delight! – ensures a vibrant personality that contrasts beautifully with the soul of the Douro. Perfect with a good *silva carpio*, wouldn’t you agree?
