Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision centred on the quality of the wines sold, the importance of brand novelty, and the presentation of its portfolio. Today led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos is increasingly fulfilling its original objective: to be a family‑run, internationally oriented company focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing globally recognised Portuguese brands. The company owns roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Quinta dos Carvalhais is situated in the municipality of Mangualde, near Nelas and Alcafache, where the soil, climate, and centuries‑old winemaking expertise make the Dão truly special.
