A new era of excellence began in 1996 when Cristiano van Zeller took over his wife Joana Lemos van Zeller’s family estate. Over more than two decades, Cristiano has steered a passion‑driven effort that has produced unique wines of recognized quality both in Portugal and abroad. The 2017 acquisition by the Aveleda group continues that legacy, adding a long‑term vision focused on excellence and sustainability. This philosophy rests on a love for detail—from hand‑picking the finest bunches, to employing traditional vinification methods, to carefully selecting the best French oak barrels.
