This Reguengos Trifolium Grande Reserva is clearly a wine that’s had a good chat with its grapes – and the Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet, and Aragonez varietals. The gentle destemming and immediate crushing, complemented by carefully selected yeasts (at a cool 28°C), suggests a well-balanced fermentation. Twelve months ageing in a mix of French and American oak barrels has bestowed it with a striking ruby colour and a notably complex character, featuring ripe black fruit, spice nuances, and a hint of cocoa. It would pair beautifully with a hearty pork loin or a slow-cooked beef stew – let’s see it shine!
