This Herdade dos Grous Reserva is certainly a palate-pleaser, isn’t it? It’s a wonderfully unexpected marriage of Alicante Bouschet with the grace of Viognier, bolstered by Alvarinho – brought all the way from afar – and the grounding presence of Antão Vaz and Touriga Nacional. That gold medal from the Reconhecimento de Vinhos de Portugal confirms what we suspected: this would be superb with a hearty lamb roast, wouldn’t you agree?
