This "Retro" Dão wine seems to have had a rather long and slightly awkward chat between its Touriga Nacional and Tinto Cão grapes before bottling – a deliberate nod to the past. The 225L French oak barrel, for 12 months, has added a touch of refinement, though perhaps with a wistful reference to a bygone era. Definitely a wine for hearty beef, and for those who appreciate a wine that seems to "know" what it's doing.
