This Santos da Casa Douro Reserva feels lifted straight from a fairytale of the quinta – its deep purple hue almost blending into the Douro’s shadows. Expect an explosion of ripe black fruit, subtly layered with earthy notes and surprisingly, a hint of coffee and chocolate, all courtesy of the Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. A richly complex wine, awarded 17 points, it finishes long and refreshingly, a truly wonderful match for a hearty beef roast.
