This Chilean Seña 2020 is quite the character – a wine that deserves a little respect, especially after James Suckling’s perfect 100 score. The winemaking, juggling new French oak barrels with Stockinger foudres, has created a texture that’s unbelievably refined. Harvested primarily with Malbec (late March/mid-April) alongside Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, thanks to a gently cool summer and a refreshing January rain, the result is a vibrant wine with an acidity that’s delightfully playful and tannins so fine they practically melt on the palate. Perfect with a rich ribeye or a beautifully grilled steak.
