Soalheiro The Soalheiro Alvarinho 9% is a low‑alcohol sweet wine made exclusively from Alvarinho grapes. It offers a superb balance, where natural sweetness meets a lively acidity that highlights the freshness, fruit and aromatic intensity characteristic of the Monção and Melgaço region. Inspired by the classic harmony of sugar and acidity in the great sweet wines of the Mosel region, it presents a naturally sweet, elegant and gastronomic style, preserving the full identity and precision of Alvarinho. The Monção and Melgaço sub‑region benefits from a unique microclimate, shielded by the mountain range that moderates Atlantic influence and provides a balance between rainfall, temperature and sun exposure. These conditions allow the grapes to ripen evenly, preserving the natural acidity essential to the fresh and elegant style of this wine. VINIFICATION Harvest is done by hand, prioritising a ripening directed at freshness and aromatic purity. After whole‑fruit pressing, the must ferments in stainless‑steel tanks at low temperature, preserving Alvarinho’s varietal expression. Fermentation is stopped before completion, achieving a harmonious balance between alcohol, residual sugar and acidity, resulting in a light, fresh sweet wine with a clean and persistent finish. AGING POTENTIAL The Soalheiro Alvarinho 9% shows excellent bottle‑evolution potential. The combination of high acidity, low pH and residual sugar contributes to its stability and aging capacity. Estimated aging potential: 5 to 10 years under good storage conditions. FOOD PAIRING SUGGESTION A versatile gastronomic wine, ideal to serve on its own at the end of a meal or alongside dishes with intense flavours and bold textures. It pairs especially well with foie gras, aged or blue cheeses, and desserts where acidity balances sweetness.
