“This is a truly audacious wine, born from the pioneering spirit of João António Cerdeira. Back in 1974, he boldly established the first continuous Alvarinho vineyard in Melgaço – now known as Soalheiro – and it’s a legacy passed down to the third generation of the Quinta da Aveleda. They’ve continued to refine this exceptional variety with biodynamic production, perfectly capturing the vineyard’s namesake sun exposure. The result is a vibrant white wine, intensely reflective of the Melgaço terroir, and a surprisingly spirited companion to a plate of freshly shucked shellfish.”
