Tapada do Chaves Reserva is the result of blending Aragonez, Trincadeira, and Alicante Bouschet grapes from the Moutas vineyard and a historic plot planted in 1901, situated at an altitude between 350 and 400 meters. The wine has a garnet color with high concentration, revealing a remarkable aromatic complexity that includes notes of wild fruit, a hint of fig, resin, earth, and leather undertones with balsamic touches. On the palate it is very elegant, with good structure and a pronounced presence of ripe fruit, expressing the classic Alentejo profile. The tannins are firm, the acidity bright, the balance impeccable, and the texture excellent. Tapada do Chaves wines are produced in the countryside around Portalegre, in the highlands of Alentejo. For almost a century this estate has been producing wines of recognized quality, among the best in Portugal. These wines capture the warmth and softness of the Alentejo region and are tied to a strong family tradition, a story of passion and dedication to the land. Originating from the estate’s vineyards that give them their name, with vines aged between 15 and 85 years, they are meant to be cellared and enjoyed in their full expression later on.
