The Pico Island Viticultural Cooperative was founded in 1949, when local producers joined forces to revive the noble grape varieties and the tradition of stone‑bedded vineyards, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Over the years, more members have joined, bringing the total to 250—women, men, and families devoted to their passion and a centuries‑old craft. Today, with 70 years of history, it is the oldest wine producer in the Azores and continues to respect and preserve viticultural traditions.
