This Tojo Unoaked is a delightful surprise from the Setúbal Peninsula. The Castelão really contributes to a rich body, and the ruby colour hints at a wine that’s kept some secrets. It’s bursting with ripe, almost candied red fruit – think dried figs – balanced by a surprising note of rosemary. On the palate, it’s an elegant and structured wine with wonderfully smooth tannins, finishing with a remarkably long, salty note. Seriously, it would be fantastic with grilled fish or a good cut of beef.
