One of the most prestigious estates in the Douro is Quinta do Vallado, an estate once owned by D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the Ferreirinha, and still in the hands of her descendants today. The Vallado wines were unfairly forgotten, but they have now naturally reclaimed their lost time. They are wines of great importance in Douro history and deserve to be in top-tier positions. Built in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest in the Douro. It is located just outside Régua, on the banks of the River Corgo. The fate of this emblematic estate lies in the hands of João Alves Ribeiro and Francisco Ferreira, both descendants of the Ferreirinha, and responsible for the management of the company and enology, respectively.
