This Vila Real Grande Reserva is a true time traveller – a classic Douro wine that’s clearly seen a few decades. The Tinta Barroca, as you’d expect, provides a wonderfully substantial body, beautifully supported by the Viosinho’s elegant structure. Think ripe black fruit notes, with a subtle warmth from the Touriga Francesa, and a finish that lingers impressively. Seriously, this would be fantastic with a hearty beef roast – a match made in wine heaven!
