Wonderful dry Riesling, powerful, structured, expressive, and extremely fresh. After seven years in the bottle, this delight showcases the great potential of the German queen grape when allowed to evolve. Its name, Pechstein, literally means “tar rock,” alluding to the black basalt rocks that form the soil on which its vines grow. This unique terroir—one of the best in Pfalz, comparable to a Grand Cru—and a year of lees aging give the Riesling a distinct mineral and peppery character, perfect for opening on special occasions.
