Chenin Blanc

Chenin Blanc is the great chameleon of French white grapes — capable of producing bone-dry, off-dry, sweet, sparkling and dessert wines all at the highest level. The variety is centered on the Loire (Vouvray, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon, Bonnezeaux) where it produces ageworthy wines of pronounced acidity and signature wet-stone, honey, quince and chamomile aromatics. South Africa is the second great home, where it is the most widely planted variety; old bush-vine Chenin from the Western Cape yields wines of serious depth.
