Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, has travelled a long journey, establishing itself as one of the most innovative wine producers in Portugal. The company’s activity began with the production of wines from grapes grown in the Palmela region. Throughout the 1980s, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal started its expansion, acquiring properties across the country and creating new paradigms for the production of Quality wines. Quinta da Garrida is located in Vila Nova de Tázem and covers a total area of 112 hectares, of which 80 hectares are vines 15 years old and the remaining area consists of new plantings carried out using the most modern techniques. The soils are granitic, light and poor, allowing the production of wines with the prized characteristics typical of the region. (illustrative image)
