In 2011, Rui Reboredo Madeira returned to the same winery where he harvested his first crop in 1987. Located in the tiny village of Vermiosa, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, among the highest vineyards in Portugal, the wines from the Inner Beira are vinified and aged there. Thus the Beyra label was born, renowned for its excellence and pioneering “High‑Altitude Wines” concept. In one of the most remote parts of the Iberian Peninsula, in the Raian zone between the Upper Douro and the Upper Beira, Rui Reboredo Madeira’s family‑born passion for the aromas and scents of the land shaped his character. After years of experience and adventures around the globe, he brought back what he learned, launching a personal wine‑making project with the utmost respect for nature.
