Esporão Roupeiro Branco is a white wine from Alentejo, Portugal, produced by Herdade do Esporão. It is made from the Roupeiro grape. Vintage 2024. Esporão Roupeiro is a noble, traditional Portuguese grape variety and one of the most widely planted in Alentejo, forming the base of many wines in the region. This wine showcases the potential of the variety, combined with the granite soils and the hot Alentejo climate. It yields an aromatic, balanced wine with good ageing capacity. Ageing: 10 months in new Hungarian oak foudre, on fine lees. The wine has a golden colour. On the nose, it is expressive, dominated by white-fleshed fruit and mineral notes. The palate is vibrant and fresh, with the oak adding structure and unctuousness without masking the character of the variety. The finish is long and persistent. Good evolution is expected. Pairs well with oven-baked fish, white meats and fresh cheeses. Serve at 10–12 °C. 12.5% vol., 0.75 L bottle. Serve this white very chilled but not ice-cold, in a medium-sized glass that concentrates the aromas. If the bottle comes out of the fridge too cold, let it stand for a few minutes at room temperature so the wine can reveal its full expression. Store the bottle on its side, in a cool, dark place without temperature variations. Once opened, reseal it and keep it in the refrigerator to preserve the aromas.
