Conciso is Niepoort's interpretation of a fine and elegant Dão, a wine that showcases the full potential and character of a very old, century-old vineyard planted in granite soil on the slopes of the Serra da Estrela, where the Baga and Jaen grape varieties predominate. The aroma offers notes of cherry, violet and mint. On the palate, it reveals depth with dried fruit and a saline character, combined with fruit, while lively acidity keeps the wine fresh, leading to a long yet smooth and elegant finish. In the national wine scene, there is no more universally respected producer than Niepoort, whose long history begins in 1842, when the first Van Der Niepoort arrived in Portugal. Entering the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the 5th generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an unavoidable figure in the world of wine, recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with several dozen producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his legacy with those with whom he is always creating irreverent wines.
