Tapada do Chaves Reserva is the result of blending Aragonez, Trincadeira, and Alicante Bouschet from the Moutas vineyard and a historic vineyard planted in 1901, situated at an altitude between 350 and 400 metres. The wine is a deep garnet with great concentration, revealing an immense aromatic complexity that includes notes of wild fruit, green apple, resin, earth, and subtle leather with balsamic undertones. On the palate it is very elegant, with good body and a pronounced presence of ripe fruit, expressing the classic Alentejo profile. The tannins are firm, the acidity bright, and the balance and overall mouthfeel are excellent. In the surroundings of Portalegre, in the lands of Alto Alentejo, the Tapada do Chaves wines are produced. For almost a century this estate has produced wines of recognised quality, ranking among Portugal’s best. The Tapada do Chaves wines capture the heat and smoothness of the Alentejo region and are rooted in a strong family tradition, a history of passion and dedication to the land. With origins in the estate’s own vineyards, whose vines range from 15 to 85 years old, these are wines meant to be cellared and later savoured in full.
