Adega Mayor The Comendador Reserva range pays tribute to the life and work of Comendador Rui Nabeiro. Complex and elegant, this special wine is aromatically enveloping, hinting at spices, chocolate, wild field flowers, and stewed wild fruit. It is a wine that marks important moments and promises to remain forever in memory. Vinification: After hand‑harvest and careful selection of clusters, the grapes ferment under controlled temperature in 5,000‑litre French oak vats. Malolactic fermentation took place in 1st‑ and 2nd‑year French oak barrels, where the wine aged for an additional 18 months. After selecting the finest barrels, it was bottled and rested in the bottle until release. An Alentejo blend, solid and refined, pairs wonderfully with classic and elaborate dishes. Strong cheeses, roasted lamb or goat, or even a traditional Portuguese stew are excellent choices for this red.
