This Arco d’Aguieira has clearly enjoyed a rather indulgent upbringing – a meticulous hand-harvest and careful selection of grapes. The extended maceration, expertly controlled, truly coaxed out the best from its Aragonez, Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon components. Following twelve months in French oak, a further three years spent ageing in the bottle have undoubtedly enhanced its complexity. A well-deserved 92/100 from James Suckling, this is a wine sure to delight even the most discerning palate – particularly when paired with a perfectly grilled beef steak.
