This “Artefacto” is a delightfully perplexing ruby – it certainly isn’t your average wine. Ripe red fruit notes playfully intertwine with oak influence, a true reflection of the Alentejo’s rich terroir. The Touriga Nacional, harvested in the second week of September, delivers a vibrant freshness and acidity that’s wonderfully defined. Twelve months in new French oak have added layers of complexity without sacrificing its elegant character. I’d pair this with perfectly grilled beef or a classic lamb dish – a match made in wine heaven, really.
