Let’s just say this Borba Rotulo de Cortiça Reserva from the heart of the Alentejo isn’t shy. That Alicante Bouschet injection delivers a gorgeous colour and a seriously robust body. The Trincadeira, intimately familiar with this land’s soil, brings a lovely touch of tradition and elegance. With Castelão and Aragonez adding their flavour, it’s a complex wine – ripe fruit mingling with a hint of spice – perfect with a hearty venison stew, I’d argue.
