This Bota Velha is a real statement, arriving from the Douro with a deep ruby hue and a decidedly wild character. Careful fermentation at near 25°C, combined with extended maceration, gives it a wonderfully dense structure. You’ll detect those classic dark forest fruits, alongside fresh herbs and a delightfully earthy “undergrowth” note – a hallmark of this terroir. Frankly, it’s quite intense, so a hearty roasted rabbit would be an excellent pairing to balance the experience.
