Castelo do Sulco Reserva Red, is a selection based on the expertise of the winemakers who conceptualised it. After a brief aging period in French oak barrels, it offers aromas of red fruit preserves and spices. On the palate it is soft yet full-bodied, with a persistent finish. The Quinta do Gradil has been referenced in the history of Portuguese wines since 1492. However, it was only in the 17th century that the vineyard and wine became part of the estate's economic activity. It was in the 19th century that a decisive moment occurred, when Dona Maria do Carmo Romeiro da Fonseca inherited the Quinta do Gradil from her father, turning it into a reference agricultural enterprise focused on wine production. Many years later, the Quinta do Gradil remains a Portuguese benchmark worldwide, now led by Luís Vieira. (illustrative image only)
